Anchor Project
- Location consists of an 1,100 acre site near Puerto Libertad, Sonora, Mexico
- 300 acres are dedicated to the anchor project
- Construction will commence through a phased approach:
- Phase 1 includes the first 4.3 mtpa liquefaction train, one tank and one berth
- Phase 2 consists of a second 4.3 mtpa liquefaction train and a second tank
- Phase 3 completes the anchor project with a third 4.3 mtpa liquefaction train
- Located a similar distance to Waha as U.S. Brownsville projects, and closer than Louisiana projects
- A robust network of existing, heavily underutilized natural gas pipelines with available capacity
- MPL's site offers a natural deep water port and wide navigation channel protected by the Baja Peninsula with a long history of panamax vessel transit to Puerto Libertad
- The site's proximity to Asia results in a significant shipping advantage with shorter transit time and ~45% lower shipping costs compared to U.S. Gulf of Mexico
- The location avoids the congested Panama Canal route and costs
- All major permits required to construct and operate the facility have been received
- Advanced permitting enables the project to quickly accelerate to construction
- Future expansion is quicker through modification of existing permits
- Expansion is easily accommodated through the remaining 800 acres within the site, site layout, and advanced permitting
- Repeatable design accelerates future growth
